Jivamukti Yoga is a physical, ethical and spiritual practice that combines an energetic Hatha Yoga inspired by the Vinyasa style. This yoga style, derived from Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, was developed by David Life and Sharon Gannon in 1984. These schools promote lifestyles that respect the environment, animal rights and veganism. Jivamukti Yoga has five tenent or essential principles:
1-Shastra: scripture;
2-Bhakti: devotion
3-Ahimsa: non-violence;
4-Nada: music;
5-Dhyana: meditation.
