It is important to first define the three terms.
Lust: when energy is felt at the sex center.
Love: when energy reaches the heart center.
Brahmacharya: when the energy rises from the sex to the heart and finally reaches the head.
This fourth Yama is often translated as “celibacy” or “chastity”.
A more accurate and applicable translation would be “the right use of energy”.
We aim to direct our energy away from fleeting external desires. We recognize that peace and happiness should be found within ourselves.
MUDRA: prana mudra: bring ring finger and pinky to your thumb while extending your index and middle finger. This mudra unleashes your Prana or “life force”.
MANTRA: chant “Om somaya namaha” which translates as “I bow to Lord Moon”.
